Pete started judo as a young man, when at 11 he was having problems with some older kids and his Mum took him along to Bristol Judo Kwai. In a few short years Pete had won an area medal and qualified for the Nationals. He left judo at 17 to explore life, where he found his other great passion, cycling. Pete returned to judo when his son turned 4 years old and took him to a club that had started locally, Bradley Stoke Judo Club. Pete was 36 years old and a blue belt back then, but success as both a fighter and a coach quickly followed.
